Puppy Kibble

Puppy Kibble FAQs

What are the benefits of giving puppy food to my young pup?

If your dog is under 1 year old, providing them with food that’s specifically designed for puppies will ensure they’re getting all the nutrients and vitamins they need as a growing puppy. Puppy food is higher in protein, calories, and other nutritious ingredients which all benefit their growth and development.

Feeding puppy food to your puppy has a wide range of other benefits, too, from promoting healthy digestion, heart health, and brain development to strengthening your puppy’s bones and teeth. With added biotin and fish oil, your pup’s coat will also become sleeker, shinier, and smoother. Our puppy food is also extremely tasty, so get ready for some excitement at mealtimes!

When can puppies eat kibble?

Your puppy can start enjoying our kibble puppy food from around 3-4 weeks of age. They should eat at regular intervals throughout the day, and they can enjoy our kibble for puppies both dry or slightly moistened. If you’re switching your puppy’s food over to our kibble, we recommend that you make the transition gradually by slowly adding our kibble to your puppy’s food while reducing the amount of old puppy food they have.

How do I know how much kibble to feed my puppy?

How much kibble your puppy needs each day will depend on their weight, age, breed, activity level, and environment. It’s important your puppy is eating the right amount of kibble each day to ensure they’re receiving the calories and nutrients they need to grow and develop. All of our kibble puppy food has general guidelines on the packaging, so this is a good place to start if you’re not sure how much food your puppy needs. These guidelines will provide you with a recommended daily amount based on your puppy’s weight, and you can divide this amount into multiple smaller meals for your puppy to enjoy throughout the day at regular intervals. If you’re still unsure about how much kibble to feed your puppy, we recommend speaking to your veterinarian for further advice.

What are some essential puppy feeding tips?

When feeding your puppy, there are a few tips you can follow to ensure your pup’s dining experience and overall health are benefitted as much as they can be. For example, we recommend feeding your puppies regular amounts at intervals throughout the day until they are a year old, as this helps with digestion.

If you’re feeding your puppy treats alongside their regular meals, you should make sure that these treats don’t exceed 10% of their daily calorie consumption. Feeding your puppy at the same times each day is also important, as this helps with routine and your puppy’s stomach will start getting used to when it’s going to be consuming and digesting food.

Soaking puppy kibble is another great tip to follow when feeding your puppy. Soaking kibble makes it softer and easier for your puppy to eat, but it also aids digestion and helps to prevent your puppy from becoming bloated. This is also a great way to provide your puppy with more fluids. To soak your kibble, simply add warm water to it and leave it to sit for 10-15 minutes before giving it to your puppy to enjoy.

When can I switch from puppy kibble to adult food?

Your puppy will be ready to switch from puppy kibble to adult food when they have reached maturity, which can be between 9 and 12 months for small and medium dogs and between 12 and 15 months for larger dogs. We recommend feeding our puppy kibble to your pup until they’re around a year old and then start gradually transitioning them onto adult food. However, if you’re not confident about when your puppy should be switching over to adult food, you can speak to your veterinarian and seek advice that’s unique to your dog.
